Let’s get your backup working.
Connection help, backup behavior, and clear answers about Free and Pro.
How do I add a destination?
Open Settings → Add Destination. Choose WebDAV, S3-compatible storage, or LibrePixel. The app checks the connection before saving.
- WebDAV: enter the server URL, username, and password.
- S3: enter the endpoint, region, bucket, access key ID, and secret access key; the path prefix is optional.
- LibrePixel: scan the server’s QR code or paste its setup code.
Free supports one destination; Pro lets you add more.
Why does the screen stay on?
Manual backups keep the screen awake in both Free and Pro. This helps large backups continue while the app is open. Connect power for a long first backup. If a backup pauses, its completed files do not need to be uploaded again.
Pro can continue a user-started backup after locking on iOS 26 when the system permits. This is not a guarantee that iOS will let every task finish.
How do Free Live Photos work?
Free saves the original still image of a Live Photo, and its status indicates that the paired video is not saved. Pro backs up both components. After upgrading, run a backup to add missing paired videos without re-uploading saved still images.
If Pro expires, previously uploaded complete Live Photos remain on your destination.
Can backups run automatically?
Pro supports automatic backup while charging and the Back Up New Photos Shortcuts action. iOS decides when background tasks may run. Keep the app installed, allow required access, and open it periodically. Cellular data is disabled unless you enable it in Settings.
Will I be notified when a backup finishes?
Pro provides optional local notifications for backup results and an overdue-backup reminder. You need to allow notifications in iOS. The app’s history and failure details remain available for free.
If iOS terminates the app or never starts a scheduled task, the app may not be able to send an immediate failure notification. The overdue reminder helps detect the absence of a completed backup.
What does Verify Backups check?
It asks the destination whether files recorded as uploaded are still present. A missing file is queued for a future backup. A server that does not respond is reported as unconfirmed, rather than treated as a successful check.
This checks presence according to the destination protocol; it is not a complete file-content integrity audit.
Why did an item fail or get skipped?
Open the photo’s details or Backup History to see the reason. A missing local original, failed connection, invalid credentials, destination size limits, or unsupported items can prevent upload. Fix the cause and run the backup again.
Hidden albums, shared albums, edited photos/videos, and RAW + JPEG pairs are outside the current backup scope.
How do I restore or cancel Pro?
Use Restore Purchases in the app with the Apple Account that bought Pro. Monthly subscriptions can be managed or canceled in iPhone Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. A lifetime purchase does not renew. Both purchase options unlock the same Pro features.
Does removing a destination delete backups?
No. It removes its saved connection credentials on this iPhone. Uploaded files remain on your destination. To delete remote backups, use that storage service’s own controls.
